How to fill out the time Report

To receive unemployment benefits, you must submit a monthly application every month. You do this in our e-service Mina sidor (My Pages).

How to fill in the application step by step

Start by selecting the month you want to apply for from the list. The month must have passed before you can submit your application – you cannot apply in advance. You also cannot apply for more than three months back in time.

When filling in your monthly application, begin by reporting the days when you were not able to look for or take a job – for example due to parental leave, caring for a sick child (vab), illness, internship, or travel. After that, you will answer whether you were abroad during the month.

In the next step, you confirm that the information we have about your current situation is correct. Here you can change or add details, for example about employment, studies, or pension. After this, you answer questions about whether you worked or had any income during the month, and enter the income from work that you have received or will receive.

Finally, review all the information you have provided and then submit your application by signing with your e-ID.

How to report your income

If you work full-time, you are not entitled to unemployment benefits. If you work less than full-time, you must report your income in your monthly application. This applies regardless of whether you have a permanent position, a temporary contract, or hourly employment.

How you report your income depends on the type of salary you receive and how it is paid out. In most cases, you should report the income for the month in which it was earned, regardless of when the salary is actually paid. Extra payments, such as compensation for inconvenient working hours (OB-ersättning), are usually reported for the month in which they are paid.

If your salary is paid out the month after you worked, you must still report the income for the month you actually worked. This may mean that you need to wait for your payslip before entering the correct amount.

Example 1 – Salary and extra payments paid in different months:

  • You receive your salary for March at the end of March → Report it in the application for March.
  • Compensation for inconvenient hours (OB) for March is paid in April together with your regular April salary → Report the OB compensation for March in the application for April.

Example 2 – All salary paid the following month:

  • You receive both your salary and OB compensation for March at the end of April.
  • Report the entire income in the application for March, since that is when you worked.
  • In this case, you may need to wait for your April payslip to get the correct amount.
